Discovering a Prosperous Mindset

The Five Pillars of Life Series | 02 Prosperity

When considering prosperity our thoughts often gravitate towards wealth and material possessions such as money in the bank, a home, or a luxurious car. While these are indeed aspects of prosperity the concept goes beyond belongings. Prosperity encompasses a mindset of abundance and growth rather than limitation. It involves cultivating an outlook that empowers us to dream, live fully, and establish connections with ourselves and those around us.

The Expansion vs. Contraction Mindset

In my field of work, I have come across two contrasting mindsets regarding prosperity. On one end of the spectrum is the mindset—clinging tightly to resources like money, belongings, or outdated beliefs out of fear or scarcity. This mindset often prompts questions like "How can I cut back on spending?". How can I increase my savings?" While being cautious is important, a restrictive approach can hinder development and well-being.

On the other side, there’s the expansion mindset—where spending and living might be a bit too extravagant, always chasing the next big thing or experience. This can lead to a cycle of overextending oneself financially and emotionally, seeking fulfillment in external excess rather than internal balance.

True Prosperity: A Holistic Approach

True prosperity goes beyond amassing riches; it's, about achieving balance in all areas of life. Here are some suggestions for nurturing a mindset.

1. Expand Your Mind and Heart: Allow yourself to dream big and imagine a life filled with joy and abundance. This could mean visualizing a beautiful vacation, a delightful dinner, or simply enjoying the luxury of a soft, cozy blanket.

2. Breathing and Physical Presence: Prosperity isn't solely a construct; it is intricately linked to our physical well-being. Practicing breathing can help us connect with our hearts and bodies anchoring us in the moment and fostering a sense of expansiveness.

3. Meaningful Relationships: Are your connections merely surface-level? Do they offer depth and significance? True prosperity encompasses meaningful enriching bonds with others as a profound understanding and connection with oneself.

4. Energy Flow: Our energy can often become stagnant due to feelings of bitterness, envy, or fear. Essential oils like Ylang Ylang, Green Myrtle, and citrus oils such as Lime, Mandarin, and Lemon can help release this stagnant energy, promoting a sense of lightness and forward movement.

Practical Pointers for Nurturing Prosperity

- Dream Big, Start Small: It's perfectly fine if your ambitious aspirations may seem a bit distant now. Begin by allowing yourself to ponder them without feeling pressure to achieve them.

- Self-Care and Joy: Engage in activities that bring you joy and relaxation. This could be as simple as a nice meal out or dressing up for no reason other than to feel good.

- Balanced Spending: Be mindful of your financial habits. Avoid both extremes of hoarding and overspending. Instead, aim for a balanced approach that allows for both saving and enjoying your resources.

- Essential Oils for Support: Incorporate essential oils into your routine to enhance emotional and energetic balance. Palmarosa can calm stress and anxiety, while Bergamot cultivates feelings of refinement and luxury. Spearmint aids in breathing, and Grapefruit uplifts the mood, cleansing energy and quieting mental chatter. Using these oils can help you reconnect with your body and create a sense of expansiveness—exactly what you need to begin a prosperous way of thinking.

Final Thoughts

Prosperity is a multifaceted concept that goes beyond the mere accumulation of wealth. It’s about living a life filled with joy, connection, and balance. By attaining a mindset of expansion, nurturing our physical and emotional well-being, and embracing both our dreams and our present reality, we can cultivate true prosperity in every aspect of our lives.

Always remember true prosperity begins from, within. It’s about feeling good in your own skin, cherishing your connections, and allowing yourself to dream without limitations. Here’s to expanding your mind, heart, and life toward endless possibilities.
